Thank you to everyone who attended the OPEN HOUSE this week!
Prone Planks are great for deep core stability and overall conditioning. We can modify planks to suit many ability levels, from beginner to super duper advanced. Anyone that works with me privately or even in classes knows how fond I am of the beloved plank. Here are the results for participants in our Plank Contest!
Prone Plank Endurance Challenge:
Siena – first attempt 15 seconds/second attempt 28 seconds. Not bad for a six year old!
Catherine – first attempt 17.3 seconds/second attempt 33 seconds.
Katie R – 1:01 (one minute, one second)
Tom C – 1:33.3
Ginger P – 1:47.6
Erin R – 2:10.5
Sara A – 2:37.7
CHAMPION! Libby S – 3:58.4. Four minutes. Enough said, she’s tough. WINNER!
Wall Sits make me think of my not so successful years as a middle school student attempting to play basketball. Although I mostly sat the bench back then, the wall sit is a simple way to test overall mental resolve and lower body endurance. Not sure how the rest of the people at the open house got out of the wall sit….better accountability next time around, eh?
Here are the results:
Wall Sit Endurance Challenge:
Erin R -2:29
Libby S – 3:11
CHAMPION Sara A – 3:52….Whew! Nice job! Must be all that running you’ve been up to lately?
Congratulations to our contest winners! Libby and Sara, as you both already have evolve wellness shirts (what I was planning on for a prize!), I have decided that you both receive a $10 credit toward evolve wellness products or services. Up to you how you use it…I hear we have some pretty tasty teas and great classes coming up!
Also, our door prize winner is Katie Reid! Congrats, Katie – let me know when you want to stop by and pick up your MOVE MORE t shirt!
We will be ordering additional hooded sweatshirts around early February, so if you have a specific size request, please place your order with me over an email. Thanks!

I truly enjoyed the Open House and appreciate everyone who came, every compliment and encouraging word, and in particular the caring thoughts and hugs that kept my spirits up throughout the day. It was a bit of an odd, rough week and I am glad to be back to my usual self. We are ready to kick butt, heading into a strong start to 2011. Here are a few of my favorite images and memories from our day together. Enjoy!

sun streaming in across our beautiful wood floors...and my parents. mom, listening intently to my every word and my dad with his nose in the book.
Community Connection Day/Open House THURSDAY, January 6 from 6-9pm. Bring guests, friends, family to enjoy tea samples, learning and reading from my library, discussion and fun contests! We have to choose to show up, to arrive, to make an effort in order to soak up all the juice that life has to offer. I posed an extended challenge for anyone interested in guessing the trim color…no one guessed the exact trim color (Steamed Milk) but we had a few people give it a good try.
So, without further delay – congratulations to Tammy Jo McIntyre, Libby Smith, and Sara Ausman for sending over a guess. Thanks for going out on a limb and showing up for the challenge! So let’s split the prize three ways, all of you earning $5 toward services or products…you have some delightful options coming up in December to use this little treat toward custom blends of Infinitea Loose Tea, developed just for us! Other retail products coming soon, too!
Enjoy your $5 gift however you’d like! See you at the studio!
Namaste,
Cheri
