Here are a few things about Cheri Dostal, cpt:

She bike commutes pretty much everywhere in the valley, with two fat tires and a purple helmet.  Wave if you see her!  Also, she took first place for women in the 2010 Valley Cat Bike Race, a thirty mile urban tour with 10 checkpoints and various adventures along the way to complete.  Her friend Ali took 2nd, right behind her on a fixed gear rig.  Nice!

She has completed 6 half marathons between September 2007 and May 2010, with a PR at 1:58:00.  She believes in positive thinking and dedicating each mile to people in her life and cultivating gratitude with each step.  She’s currently contemplating trail and adventure racing and giving up the road….stay tuned.

Cheri loves rock climbing – currently climbs 5.10+ top rope and 5.9+ lead.  Looking forward to breaking in some 11′s and tackling more competitions in the future!

She loves beans, eggs, sushi, fresh mint, water without ice, red peppers, and nectarines.  The only foods she steers away from are olives and ginger – yeesh.  You can usually spot her at Just Local Foods downtown or the farmers market in season.  She uses food journaling for herself on occassion, and with the majority of her students help them gain wisdom about their eating habits and how it affects them.

Cheri started teaching Yoga in June 2007 consistently, and has practiced yoga, dance, and other movement disciplines her entire adult life, having completed a B.A. Dance degree at UWSP in 2004.  She tend to teach in a hatha/vinyasa style with rich anatomical knowledge and universal movement principles, at times she pulls on her experience in restorative yoga, too.  She currently studies yoga with and assists Donna Farhi, author of Bringing Yoga To Life and other fine yoga texts.  Next up – a five day intensive in Seattle WA this September!

She also loves to write and has accumulated about 190 pages of nonfiction that hopefully will become a meaningful finished product….  Someday.
