From Libby as she reflects on the new year…you may remember her earlier post titled “PASS”…you can find it in the blog archives!  Enjoy this inspiring story and send me yours when you have a spare moment between eating healthy, your workouts, and saving the world.   :)

“The most meaningful thing I can tell you about as I reflect on the New Year is that for the first time in many years my New Year’s resolutions aren’t about things that I am going to fix, quit or change.  They are about things that I am going to accomplish, goals I want to reach.  While I did finally hit my goal weight in the last month or so, the biggest change I have made in the last two years is not the number on the scale, but how I think about myself and my health.  I had been stuck at the same number on the scale for many months, it was a number I could live with, but I was frustrated that I wasn’t able to move it at all.
I met with Cheri to reset my goals and work through a problem I had been having with some tightness in my upper back.  We worked together over a few sessions to focus my efforts on a daily yoga practice and specifically some ideas for loosening my shoulders and upper back.  After just one week of dedicating myself to a daily yoga practice I noticed a huge difference in the range of motion of my shoulders.  The tightness in my back has improved and I finally saw some movement on the scale.  Most importantly it helped me to remember that I have to be willing to change and adapt to my new body.  The things that were working for me a year ago as I was still shedding the pounds won’t necessarily work for me now.
I have three fitness goals for the new year…continue to commit to a daily yoga practice, run in at least six 5K races this year and strength train to accomplish the TRX 20/20!  I know Cheri will support me in reaching these goals….and probably push me further past them then I realize right now.”
AMAZING.  I am so proud of your commitment to live well.

Thanks for sending a photo and sharing your story, Libby.

You’re right on, Libby.  We will accomplish all of those goals together – and then some.  See you soon!
Namaste,
Cheri
